Letters from Montreal was inspired by Janet Flanner’s “Letters from Paris,” written under the pen name Genêt for The New Yorker in the 1920s and 30s. The blog is an epistolary novel-in-progress (though not all of the entries will appear in letter format), and is written by an American living in Montreal under the pseudonym “Elle.”
